Melbourne Spring Fashion Week – MSFW Designer Runway 2

After indulging in Runway 1, and the dramatic, artistic designs that ensued, Designer Runway 2 was a breath of spring fresh air. Channelling a 90s minimalist vibe, each Australian designer showcased their breadth within the current fashion trends of pop-art, pastel palettes and leather/neoprene fabrics. Carly HunterYB J’AIMEAlice McCallLIFEwithBIRDNeo DiaKahloManning CartellLUI HON and Willow took to the runway at Melbourne Town Hall.

Alice McCall was a stand out, though most pieces have been purchasable via their online store for some time, that doesn’t change the incredible pop of colour and creativity in Alice’s designs. Particularly enjoyed the pairing of print-on-print below:

The structured and tailored looks of Lui Hon were the perfect pairing of business and chic. Utilising a minimalist monochrome colour palette, the clean designs are perfect for a day-to-night outfit. Particularly love the cream vest and metallic pants combination.

Finally, YB J’aime, who opened the show, really showed that combining florals with tailored blazers, shorts and pants is a trend that’s here to stay. The soft pastel orange blazer, striking floral print blouse, and deep purple shorts are the perfect spring outfit:
