Visiting Victoria Part 1: Domaine Chandon & Healesville Sanctuary

Last week I was lucky enough to experience some of Victoria’s top tourist destinations during working hours. As part of a project, I was able to enter each of the above mentioned locations and have a VIP treatment.

Domaine Chandon

Domaine Chandon is located in the Yarra Valley region of Victoria, approximately 1 hour from the CBD. The destination has a dine-in restaurant which overlooks the entire vineyard. Chandon also offers tours and wine-tastings from 10.30am on most days.

The drawcard however, is the wine itself. Chandon is a premium sparkling wine distillery, with everything from Rose to the Chandon Brut and a sparkling Pinot Shiraz. I’d highly recommend the tasting bar, as you can sip from any of the 20 Chandon wines, and receive a refund upon purchasing a product!

Healesville Sanctuary

The second stop in my work day schedule was Healesville Sanctuary. Home to the largest population of Australian animals in a visitation zoo, I was able to get up-close-and-personal with some of the cuties pictured below.

I fed and pet a Kangaroo, who looked at me with his adorable eyes, pleading for more goodies. Then I was able to pet a baby Dingo, something I never thought I’d do in my lifetime.

It’s a very open, fun and engaging environment in Healesville, and is highly worth the drive up there!
