Cannes International Film Festival
The Cannes International Film Festival is home, year in and year out, to the opulent, luxurious and majestic. Celebrities flock to the coast of France dressed in their high-fashion finest. The festival combines two of my loves, style and wanderlust.
This year was no different, of course. Each day, stars were dressed in head-to-toe designer couture, representing their industry in summery hues of hot-pink, neon-yellow and electric-blue. Whilst bold colour is synonymous with summer, others chose to highlight the timelessness of a monochrome pallet, dressing in shades of black and white.
Standouts were Blake Lively, Cheryl Cole, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Lara Stone, combining flawless hair and make-up, with on-trend formal attire.
Blake, dressed to perfection in Prada and Chanel for the week, wore an array of winning outfits. The item featured above, a waist-clenching illusion dress, turned heads, along with her blow-out beachy waves. Her natural make-up, including a pale-pink lip, all added to the flawless execution we’ve come to expect from Blake’s styling. Her team get much props for this one.
Cheryl Cole’s black strapless Monique Lhuillier number was perfectly suited to her dark features and created an alluring old-hollywood vibe. The long layers of billowing train drew photographers in like a moth-to-a-flame. Her smokey eyes and up-do perfectly complimented the open neckline and classy texturing in the dress. This look is easily a 10.
I’m looking forward to seeing many of the independent films that received reviews following the completion of the week. The stars were out in flocks, and for a festival renowned for it’s fashionable rigger, it certainly delivered in spades.
